Brotherly love and cooperation are wonderful and beautiful! They are truly things from God.How Today’s Reading Contributes to the Gospel: God is Setting All Things Right
Sibling love trumps sibling rivalry.
What should not be lost in this short reading is the fact that David has been running from Saul for years. He has been the cause of a great massacre at Nob. He has fought Saul's remaining sons for two years. Now all of the tribes come to him for leadership. They voluntarily decide to place him as their king. I can see David crying over the years that have been wasted because of civil war. At last! Peace! God can set all things right when His Chosen People work together to set things right.Get along with your brothers and sisters!
